Milan to Capetown, Google maps tells you; 14,247km and 203 hours of solid driving, not including a single stop.
Of course we won’t be taking the direct route, the 14,247km is just an idea of the vast distance we will cover. We will also be making stops and detours to admire the most beautiful parts that every country has to offer, so our trip may well be even longer.
However, staying 100% overland is near impossible as you have to travel through an active warzone on your route to Africa. Safety is a consideration when planning a trip like this, so we have decided to ship the Defender from Italy to Egypt for the beginning of our journey and to miss out the most dangerous places.
We will pass through 16 different countries and experience many different cultures. There will be challenging moments and times of relaxation, but everything is part of the Overland experience. We will take everything with a smile and fill our souls with ever lasting memories.
Here is a rough plan of our route;
AMAZING! I am super excited for both of you and I cannot wait to read up regularly on your adventures. Stay safe you guys and keep us reading.
Thank you Sergej,
We can wait to get it really started, currently experiencing Egyptian bureaucracy.
Can’t wait to see all the photos
We are a bit slow at the moment as the internet is hit and miss.
